My
sketchbook is my treasured travelling companion. I generally work in pen and
ink, pencil, watersoluble graphite, or in a combination of
these media. I work in an Aquabee 808 sketchbook because the paper works well
for all media, including watercolor (it stays flat), or I will sometimes do
the drawings on papers I find on-site. I find that drawing on-site is the very
best way to bond with my surroundings, to imprint what I see before me on my
subconcious. My sketches serve no purpose other than the the enjoyment and meditative
process of doing them. I don't frame them, make prints of them, use them
as direct source material for paintings......I just do them and store them on
the shelf in my studio (and in my mind)
